Friday, Dubai announced that it will be extending the current coronavirus restrictions until the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, said the Dubai Media Office.

The emirate’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management said the maximum capacity allowed in venues with indoor seating, including cinemas, entertainment and sports venues, will remain at 50 percent.

The committee added that shopping malls, hotels, swimming pools and private beaches in hotels are permitted to only operate at 70 percent capacity, and restaurants and cafes across Dubai must close by 1am.

Monitoring and inspection campaigns will be intensified across the city to ensure that all establishments adhere to the required health protocols.

Feb. 2, Dubai tightened its health restrictions in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The UAE confirmed 3,498 new coronavirus cases and 16 deaths Friday.
