According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health (MoH), the number of coronavirus cases increased by 53.4 percent in Jordan in less than one week between Feb. 20 and Feb. 26.

A total of 26,301 COVID-19 cases and 122 deaths were recorded in Jordan during this period, while in the previous week the Kingdom confirmed 14,048 cases and 92 deaths.

Friday, Jordan recorded 23 deaths and 3,644 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 383,912.

Due to the huge increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the Kingdom, the government announced Wednesday the reimposition of Friday lockdowns in Jordan, in addition to new curfew hours.
