The Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Nizar Mhaidat denied the rumors circulating across social media platforms regarding the development of a Jordanian COVID-19 vaccine. He explained that the entity that announced the news has not submitted documents to officially register the vaccine yet.

He stressed that the JFDA is the exclusive reference point for licensing and approving vaccines and drugs in Jordan based on local and international standards.

The JFDA advised citizens to always verify the authenticity of news and information circulating on social media before sharing it. The administration called on citizens to refer to them for reliable information regarding any vaccines and medication.
