The Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) stressed that the reimposition of the Friday total lockdown will deepen the difficulties faced by the commercial and service sectors.
The head of the JCC Nael Al-Kabariti said the decision came without consulting with the private sector, despite that the sector showed a huge commitment to the required safety and health measures.
He stressed the need to reconsider total lockdown on Fridays, noting that such a decision should not harm the national economic interest. He said the government should look closely at the economic situation in Jordan during the current period, as many of the decisions and measures taken since the start of the pandemic have affected many commercial and service sectors.
Kabariti stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors, through a new approach to achieve economic recovery in such difficult times.
