The Minister of Labor Maen Al-Qatamin said Wednesday that the unemployment rate reached 24 percent in Jordan during the fourth quarter of 2020.

He stressed that all relevant authorities should work together to reduce the unemployment rate, calling it a 'ticking time bomb.'

Qatamin said that the unemployment rates will otherwise increase further, especially in light of the repercussions of the coronavirus crisis.

He lastly added that the main solution to unemployment is to have a strategic investment plan.
