Golfing legend Tiger Woods, 45, suffered multiple injuries after his car rolled off a Los Angeles highway and flipped down a hill Tuesday. 

Woods had to be extracted from his vehicle. 

After multiple surgeries, he is said to now be in stable condition, but authorities have described his injuries as 'significant.'

"Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia," said Dr. Anish Mahajan of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

"Additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were stabilized with a combination of screws and pins. Trauma to the muscle and soft-tissue of the leg required surgical release of the covering of the muscles to relieve pressure due to swelling."

The highway where the incident occured is infamous for speeding and deadly accidents.
