Tuesday, Egypt received its second shipment of the Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, containing 300,000 doses, the Egyptian Health Ministry said in a statement. The country received its first 50,000 doses of the vaccine in December.

Egypt received 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine earlier in February as part of its program to vaccinate health workers.

On Jan. 24, Egypt started its vaccination campaign, using the Sinopharm vaccine.

Egypt confirmed 623 coronavirus cases and 51 deaths Monday.
