Thursday, the media spokesperson for the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Nasser Al-Rahmaneh, confirmed that the GAM has rented 90 vehicles to deal with the harsh snowy weather conditions in the Kingdom, in addition to their previously rented 162 vehicles.
Al-Rahmaneh indicated that 5,000 GAM cadres worked around the clock to bulldoze and shovel snow off main and secondary roads in the western and northern regions of Amman, which saw 20 to 30 centimeters of snow.
He said that the Sports City Bridge was closed as a precaution in agreement with the Traffic Department, noting that the GAM dealt with 250 complaints, pertaining to stranded individuals, vehicles, power cuts, and trees falling.
