Education minister designates schools as shelters amid harsh weather conditions

Tuesday, the Minister of Education Tayseer Al-Nuaimi instructed education directors to make the appropriate preparations in order to open schools as designated shelters during the prevailing weather situation in coordination with their administrative governors.

According to ArabiaWeather, Jordan is set to witness harsh weather conditions, including heavy snowfall due to an extremely cold polar front. They expect this weather to begin late Tuesday night or early Wednesday.

Earlier Tuesday, Nuaimi announced the suspension of school attendance across the Kingdom on Wednesday, Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 18. He added that schools will switch to distance learning.
