Palestine records five deaths and 1,048 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded five deaths and 1,048 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Monday.

The new deaths involved three in the West Bank (one in Ramallah, one in Hebron, and one in Salfit), and two in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.3 percent, while the active case rate is 5.6 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 18 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 136 in Hebron; 75 in Salfit; 62 in Jenin; 90 in Nablus; 94 in Bethlehem; 17 in Tubas; 18 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 33 in Tulkarm; 191 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 27 in Qalqilya; 208 in Jerusalem city, and 79 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 43 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 31 in Hebron; 25 in Salfit; 11 in Jenin; 61 in Nablus; 18 in Tubas; eight in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 20 in Tulkarm; 158 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; eight in Qalqilya; 182 in Jerusalem city, and 350 in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 63 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 23 are on ventilators.

A total of 5,090 PCR tests were conducted.
