Monday, the State Security Court stated that the Zarqa crime case verdict will be announced in early March, wherein 17 defendants are being tried, including one defendant who escaped from justice.

In order to properly analyze evidence, the court decided to postpone the consideration in preparation for issuing the verdict.

Dec. 21, the State Security Court (SSC) held another public session in the Zarqa crime case to hear the testimony of the final witness in the case.

On Oct. 13, 2020, the PSD announced that a 16-year-old boy was beaten, had his eyes gouged and his forearms amputated.

In Nov. 2020, the State Security Court began trying the 17 accused of the crime, with one being tried in absentia and is a fugitive.

The prosecution charged the defendants with several counts, namely premeditated murder, carrying out terrorist acts that endanger public safety, endangering lives using a lethal weapon, causing permanent disability, unlawful possession of a firearm, and kidnapping.
