Monday, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali, assured citizens and residents that all food supplies are available in abundance and there is no reason to rush to buy extra items due to the harsh weather conditions expected later during the week.

However, she instructed supply mills and bakeries to obtain additional quantities of flour to continue their work under the expected weather conditions.
Ali noted that bakeries have been provided with sufficient quantities to cover their needs for several days and according to their storage capacity.
In turn, Ali instructed market observers in Amman and all governorates to intensify supervision over shops and bakeries to ensure their compliance with safety and health requirements.
She pointed out that these establishments need to efficiently adhere to health protocols in order to avoid congestion, especially in the light of the expected turnouts due to the harsh weather conditions which are set to occur this week.
The Union of Bakery Owners also urged bakeries to abide by the set health protocols and procedures.
There are around 2,000 bakeries operating in Jordan.
