The Jordanian Strategy Forum (JSF) announced that the number of students enrolled in public schools for the 2020/2021 academic year increased by 11.3 percent, while the number of students in private schools dropped by 19 percent for the same period.

In student enrollment statistics for the Ministry of Education and private schools for the same years, the JSF said Amman topped the list of the number of private school students by 33 percent, while the remaining 67 percent have joined public schools. Aqaba follows Amman with 24 percent of students in private schools and 76 percent in the public system.

Meanwhile, Mafraq and Ma'an recorded the highest rates in the number of students enrolled in public schools, reaching 95 percent in both governorates, according to JSF.
