The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that it sent 2,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccines to the Gaza Strip Sunday. This came after the Israeli Occupation agreed to transfer the vaccine from Ramallah to the Gaza Strip.

The medical staff will be the first to receive the vaccine.

The ministry also said that by the end of Sunday, all medical staff in hospitals and health centers across the West Bank will be vaccinated, adding that they will receive the second dose of the vaccine early March.

Additionally, the ministry added that they will begin vaccinating the elderly and people with chronic diseases as soon as all the medical staff have been vaccinated.

The Palestinian Authority is set to receive vaccines from various sources including Moderna and Sputnik V.

The ministry lastly added that it has prepared centers to vaccinate citizens in various governorates.

On Feb. 2, Palestine began its national COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
