Palestine recorded 15 deaths and 938 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Saturday.

The new deaths involved nine in the West Bank (two in Bethlehem; one in Jenin; one in Ramallah and al-Bireh; two in the suburbs of Jerusalem; one in Tulkarm; one in Qalqilya, and one in Nablus), three in the Gaza Strip, and three in Jerusalem city.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.4 percent, while the active case rate is 5.5 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 27 in Qalqilya; 27 in Tulkarm; 44 in Hebron; 72 in Bethlehem; 41 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 20 in Jenin; 54 in Salfit; 88 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 42 in Nablus; eight in Jericho and al-Aghwar; two in Tubas; 338 in Jerusalem city (over the course of two days), and 175 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included nine in Qalqilya; 16 in Tulkarm; 42 in Hebron; 58 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 21 in Jenin; 14 in Salfit; 35 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 41 in Nablus; two in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 10 in Tubas; 191 in Jerusalem city (over the course of two days), and 340 in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 62 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 22 are on ventilators.

A total of 3,163 PCR tests were conducted.
