Thursday, the governor of Amman Saad Al-Shehab, announced that 30 coffee shops were issued violations for serving shisha, which is a clear violation of defense orders and public health and safety measures which were set to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

Shehab said that specialized governorate committees and security services carried out inspection tours Wednesday in different parts of Amman, where they found those cafes.

He said that the necessary legal and administrative measures were taken against the violators, including closing their shops, and arresting the owners.

Shehab confirmed that inspection tours will continue to ensure adherance to defense orders and public health conditions, while asking citizens to continue adhering to the precautionary measures.
