Palestine records two deaths and 1,101 new COVID-19 infections

Palestine recorded two deaths and 1,101 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Thursday.

The new deaths involved one death in Tulkarm, West Bank, and one death in Jerusalem city.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.5 percent, while the active case rate is 5.4 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 17 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 65 in Salfit; 101 in Hebron; 175 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 57 in Bethlehem; 35 in Jenin; 59 in Nablus; 18 in Qalqilya; 45 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 20 in Tulkarm; five in Tubas; 202 in the Gaza Strip, and 302 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included six in Jericho and al-Aghwar; four in Salfit; 24 in Hebron; 114 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 11 in Bethlehem; 17 in Jenin; 21 in Nablus; 57 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 12 in Tulkarm; 11 in Tubas; 190 in the Gaza Strip, and 185 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 57 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 18 are on ventilators.

A total of 5,471 PCR tests were conducted.
