Wednesday, the governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Laila Ghannam, announced that the towns of Beit Rima and Al-Mazraa Al-Sharqiya will be facing a total lockdown after large numbers of coronavirus infections were recorded in the two towns.

In a press statement, Ghannam explained that the decision to impose a total lockdown in the two towns came following recommendations made by the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Health Directorate to limit the COVID-19 outbreak.

The directorate called on citizens in the two towns to abide by lockdown measures and to assist preventive medicine teams in taking samples from citizens in order to preserve local health and safety.
