Palestine records nine deaths and 1,022 new COVID-19 infections

Palestine recorded nine deaths and 1,022 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Tuesday.

The new deaths involved seven in the West Bank (two in Hebron; two in Salfit; one in Bethlehem; one in Ramallah and al-Bireh, and one in Jenin), and two in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.7 percent, while the active case rate is 5.1 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 71 in Salfit; 69 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 91 in Hebron; 181 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 55 in Bethlehem; 21 in Qalqilya; 32 in Tulkarm; 49 in Nablus; 32 in Jenin; eight in Tubas; five in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 148 in the Gaza Strip, and 260 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included 16 in Salfit; 28 in Hebron; 91 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 33 in Bethlehem; two in Qalqilya; 31 in Tulkarm; 68 in Nablus; 17 in Jenin; nine in Tubas; four in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 264 in the Gaza Strip, and 170 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 58 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 17 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,457 PCR tests were conducted.
