Palestine confirms 14 deaths and 824 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 14 deaths and 824 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Sunday.

The new deaths involved nine in the West Bank (two in Hebron, one in Bethlehem; one in Jenin; one in the suburbs of Jerusalem; one in Tubas; one in Tulkarm, and one in Nablus), two in the Gaza Strip, and three in Jerusalem city.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.9 percent, while the active case rate is 5 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 17 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 38 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 15 in Qalqilya; 66 in Hebron; 35 in Salfit; 57 in Nablus; 19 in Tulkarm; 29 in Bethlehem; 122 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 10 in Tubas; 20 in Jenin; 144 in the Gaza Strip, and 252 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included nine in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 14 in Qalqilya; 23 in Hebron; 21 in Salfit; 49 in Nablus; 20 in Tulkarm; 19 in Bethlehem; 52 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; six in Tubas; 32 in Jenin; 214 in the Gaza Strip, and 69 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 64 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 14 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,303 PCR tests were conducted.
