During press statements Sunday, the President of the National Society for Consumer Protection (NSCP) Mohammed Obeidat, called on the relevant health authorities to give COVID-19 vaccination priority to teaching and administrative staff in schools, similar to medical and nursing staff.

He indicated that the education sector is the largest sector with some of the highest numbers of employees in the Kingdom, therefore they must be given priority for vaccination in order to reduce the number of infections. He added that this will have a positive impact on the general pandemic situation in Jordan, and thus will help the Kingdom recover and get rid of the pandemic.

Obeidat called on parents of students to guide and educate their children about health protocols before returning to schools in order to preserve their health and safety.

He added that citizens adhering to health and safety protocols is essential, as it is the first line of defense to eliminate the coronavirus, stressing the need for health inspectors to be present in all government and private schools in the Kingdom so as to monitor the health situation in order to avoid infections and health protocol violations.
