Her Majesty Queen Rania Saturday spoke with CNN’s Becky Anderson during the virtual 20th Warwick Economics Summit. Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah called on the international community to address issues fueling the rise of inequality during the COVID-19 pandemic, stressing the need for equitable global coronavirus vaccine distribution.

Her Majesty said, "This pandemic has revealed and reinforced cracks in our world order, along lines of income inequality, gender inequity, and social injustice,."

Her Majesty also highlighted current challenges in education, stating that COVID-19 has caused the greatest disruption to education in human history, with school closures affecting 1.6 billion students. The Queen also called for the international community to prioritize closing the global education funding gap.

Despite current challenges, Her Majesty pointed out that this period has also shown some of our strengths as an international community, particularly regarding global efforts to contain and cure COVID-19.


Local authorities recovered all bodies of those who went missing in Al Ruwaished floods, two of which were found Friday and the last on Saturday Morning. All individuals went missing early on Friday after a vehicle was swept away due to flooding in the west of Al-Ruwaished.

The governor of Mafraq Yasser Al-Adwan added that the brother of one of the missing individuals died during the search for them. Adwan confirmed that the incident occurred at around 1:30 AM and explained that civil defense teams came to the scene and waited for reinforcements to arrive due to the difficult circumstances.

Thursday, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) had announced that the Kingdom will be affected by unstable weather conditions. After which the Greater Amman Municipality declared a state of moderate emergency due to heavy rain and flooding.


Earlier today, the Ministry of Health inaugurated two COVID-19 vaccination centers inside Al-Hussein Sports City in Amman bringing the total number of vaccination centers across Jordan to 85. Jordan began administering the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Jordan on Thursday morning, as part of its national vaccination campaign which started on Jan. 13.


The Ministry of Transport Saturday referred a transportation company to the Public Prosecutor for issuing forged COVID-19 PCR test results for 34 individuals.

In a press statement, the ministry said that the Minister of Interior informed them that a transportation company, that transports passengers between Amman and Aqaba, had issued tickets for 34 passengers, eight of which are Jordanian and the rest are Egyptian.

The fake PCR test results were detected by the competent authorities at the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, which was immediately reported to the Governor of Aqaba who communicated it to the Ministry of Interior. As a result, both ministries took all the necessary legal measures, including stopping these passengers from boarding the plane to Egypt.
