The Ministry of Transport Saturday referred a transportation company to the Public Prosecutor for issuing forged COVID-19 PCR test results for 34 individuals.

In a press statement, the ministry said that the Minister of Interior informed them that a transportation company, that transports passengers between Amman and Aqaba, had issued tickets for 34 passengers, eight of which are Jordanian and the rest are Egyptian.

The fake PCR test results were detected by the competent authorities at the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, which was immediately reported to the Governor of Aqaba who communicated it to the Ministry of Interior. As a result, both ministries took all the necessary legal measures, including stopping these passengers from boarding the plane to Egypt.
