The Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai al-Kaila said that Palestine will receive a total of 10,000 doses of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine Thursday, which is enough to vaccinate 5,000 people.

The Palestinian Authority began a vaccination campaign against the coronavirus in the occupied West Bank by injecting its medical personnel, after receiving 2,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine from the Israeli Occupation.

On Jan. 11, Palestine approved the Russian Sputnik V vaccine for emergency use.

Russia previously announced that Sputnik V vaccine is 91.6 percent effective against COVID-19.
