Palestine records nine deaths and 513 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded nine deaths and 513 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Tuesday.

The new deaths involved eight in the West Bank (one in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; two in Hebron; one in Bethlehem; one in Jenin; one in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; one in the suburbs of Jerusalem, and one in Nablus), and one in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 94 percent, while the active case rate is 4.9 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 31 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 26 in Tulkarm; 48 in Bethlehem; 22 in Salfit; 10 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 57 in Nablus; 29 in Hebron; 110 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 13 in Tubas; five in Qalqilya; 19 in Jenin, and 143 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 20 in Tulkarm; 17 in Bethlehem; four in Salfit; five in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 41 in Nablus; 35 in Hebron; 68 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 11 in Tubas; six in Qalqilya; 15 in Jenin, and 280 in the Gaza Strip.

Currently, 54 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 16 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,835 PCR tests were conducted.
