Tuesday, Minister of Health, Nathir Obeidat reduced the prices of antibody and antigen tests. The new price of the antibody test is JD 10 per test, while the antigen test is JD 7.

The old prices were JD 15 for the antibody test and JD 10 for the antigen test.

The decision to reduce the price of both tests, came based on recommendations from the Minister of Health and the Private Medical Laboratories Committee.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration, the antibody test "looks for antibodies that are made by your immune system in response to a threat, such as a specific virus." This is different from the PCR test, which is a diagnostic test that "can show if you have an active coronavirus infection and should take steps to quarantine or isolate yourself from others."
