Monday, Hezbollah announced the shooting down of an Israeli Occupation drone in south Lebanon.

In its statement, Hezbollah said, "The Islamic Resistance shot down this morning, Monday, a drone belonging to the Israeli enemy that penetrated the Lebanese airspace outside the town of Blida."

The statement added that the group "has become in the custody of the mujahideen of the resistance."

Soon after, an Israeli Occupation army spokesman said, "During operational activity along the Blue Line, an IDF plane crashed into Lebanese territory," without specifying how this happened. He stressed that "there is no fear of a leak of information."

Lebanon and the Israeli Occupation are officially at war. In 2006 Lebanon witnessed a bloody war between the Israeli Occupation and Hezbollah that lasted 33 days, during which 1,200 people were killed in Lebanon, most of them civilians, and 160 citizens of the Israeli Occupation, most of them soldiers.

Jan. 22, the Israeli Occupation announced the downing of a drone that entered its airspace from Lebanon, hours after a missile attack on Syria.

August 23, 2020, Hezbollah announced that it had shot down a drone near the town of Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon. The group also announced the downing of a similar plane on September 9, 2019, after a week of limited exchange of fire between Hezbollah and the Israeli Occupation forces at the time.

Hezbollah had threatened to target the Israeli Occupation drones that violate the Lebanese airspace, after it accused the Israeli Occupation of launching a drone attack on August 25, 2019 in the southern suburbs.

Hezbollah is a major player on the political scene in Lebanon, and it has a huge arsenal of weapons that includes precision missiles.
