Sunday evening, the Israeli Occupation government decided to extend the country's quarantine measures, which were scheduled to end at midnight for an additional five days, according to what the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Health announced in a joint statement.

In a statement, the government said it will meet next Wednesday to discuss the situation and consider another extension.

Sunday, thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews violated quarantine measures when they attended a rabbi's funeral in Occupied Jerusalem.

Thousands of people gathered in the evening in the same city to participate in the funeral of another rabbi, Yitzhak Shiner, in a new breach of quarantine measures that only 20 people are allowed to participate in the funeral.

During the day, the Israeli Occupation parliament voted in favor of increasing fines for violating health restrictions.

The deputies voted in a third reading on a bill that would double the amount of fines for companies and schools that violate procedures, from five to ten thousand shekels (2,500 euros).

The Ministry of Health said that, during the past month, the Israeli Occupation vaccinated more than three million of its residents.

The Israeli Occupation has pledged to share its data on the effects of this vaccination with the giant Pfizer in exchange for the rapid delivery of the vaccines.

Despite this campaign, which enabled a third of the population to be vaccinated, in the past 24 hours, the Israeli Occupation recorded just over 3,500 new cases of the virus.

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri also extended the closure of the border crossings with Jordan and Egypt for two days, which was announced last Wednesday.

International flights will remain suspended, and Ben Gurion International Airport will remain closed for another week, based on the government's decision.

Despite these health measures, in January, the Israeli Occupation in January recorded more deaths than ever before, tallying over 1,000. A total of 4,700 deaths  have been recorded since March.

As of January 31, Israel had officially recorded 643,006 cases of the virus.
