Thursday, Algeria announced that a vaccination campaign against the coronavirus will begin Saturday. The first batch of the Russian 'Sputnik V' vaccine will arrive in the country Friday.
"The first batch of Sputnik's vaccine against COVID-19 will arrive tomorrow at Boufarik military airport," said the Algerian TV Channel 'TV3'.
"The vaccination campaign will begin in Blida Hospital on Saturday."
Further batches of COVID-19 vaccines will arrive to Algeria from India and China.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Algeria confirmed a total of 106,359 COVID-19 cases and 2,877 deaths.
