Monday, the Minister of Health, Nathir Obeidat confirmed that the government is currently working to secure more than one million doses of vaccines arriving from China.

He added that a total of 41,000 doses of different vaccines from the WHO's COVAX Coalition will arrive in Jordan this week.

Jordan launched the national vaccination campaign on Jan. 13, after the first shipments of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in the Kingdom.

Additionally, Jordan is one of the world's first countries to start vaccinations for UNHCR-registered refugees, according to the UN Refugee Agency. All citizens and residents of Jordan, including refugees and asylum seekers, are entitled to receive the vaccine free of charge.
