Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh revealed Monday that Palestine is studying with Jordan and the Israeli Occupation the option of closing all its border crossings in order to confront the new mutated COVID-19 strain, and prevent its spread.

Shtayyeh stressed that wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing are the only available 'weapons' available right now to protect against the virus.

He added that citizens' commitment to partial lockdown measures has led to positive results, as the hospitals occupancy rates have significantly decreased.

Monday, Palestine recorded five deaths and 470 new COVID-19 cases.
