The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Thursday announced that a total of 4,313 COVID-19 cases and 150 deaths were recorded in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis.

The spokesperson for UNRWA in Lebanon Hoda al-Samra said the agency is coordinating with all United Nations organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, as well as the Lebanese Ministry of Health, to secure enough vaccines to meet the camps' needs.

Samra said vaccines will be administered based on the priorities set by the WHO. She pointed out that all Palestinian refugees will be vaccinated gradually, as following vaccine shipments arrive in Lebanon.
