The World Health Organization (WHO) said Wednesday that it has not recorded any deaths resulting from COVID-19 vaccines.

The Assistant Director General of the WHO Mariangela Simao said that no deaths have been recorded resulting from the use of any of the vaccines currently in use.

She added that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is the most widely used vaccine.

The organization is closely following the use of the Pfizer vaccine and the reports from the countries in which the vaccine was distributed, she said.

Jan. 16, the Norwegian authorities announced the death of 23 elderly people infected with COVID-19 who had received the Pfizer vaccine.

Investigations are currently underway to determine their cause of death.

A direct correlation between the Pfizer vaccine and these deaths has not been established.
