Palestine records 19 deaths and 660 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 19 deaths and 660 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Tuesday.

The new deaths involved nine in the West Bank (one in Salfit; one in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; five in Nablus, and one in Jenin), six in the Gaza Strip and four in Jerusalem city.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 92.3 percent, while the active case rate is 6.6 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 17 in Salfit; 17 in Tubas; 12 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 28 in Tulkarem; 37 in Nablus; 13 in Qalqilya; 47 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 15 in Bethlehem; three in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 19 in Hebron; 17 in Jenin; 313 in the Gaza Strip, and 122 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included 21 in Salfit; 21 in Tubas; 33 in Tulkarem; 95 in Nablus; 11 in Qalqilya; 91 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 54 in Bethlehem; 30 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 44 in Hebron; 44 in Jenin; 395 in the Gaza Strip, and 188 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 81 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 22 are on ventilators.

A total of 3,339 PCR tests were conducted.
