Kuwait confirms first two cases of mutated COVID-19 strain

Tuesday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced that the first two cases of the mutated COVID-19 strain have been discovered in Kuwait. The cases belong to people coming from Britain.

On Dec. 24, Kuwait began a nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign, with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sabah Al-Khalid becoming the first person vaccinated in the country.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Kuwait has confirmed a total of 158,244 COVID-19 cases, 948 deaths and 151,496 recoveries.
