Industry minister stresses need to adhere to health measures in malls

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry Youssef Al-Shamali and the Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce Nael Al-Kabariti, met with a number of owners of major malls and commercial centers to emphasize the importance of adhering to defense orders related to safety and precautionary health protocols to tackle the pandemic.

During the meeting, Ali referred to the plan for the gradual opening of closed sectors, which requires full cooperation from all parties to facilitate effective health and safety measures in order for the government to continue with the plan.

She stressed the need to adhere to wearing a face mask and not overcrowding inside malls, commercial centers and other facilities, which enhances public safety and preventive health measures.

She explained that the ministry, in coordination with the Amman Chamber of Commerce began implementing awareness and guidance campaigns for establishments in various governorates.

She said that the ministries and government agencies in charge of implementing Defense Order 20 are continuing with intensive monitoring campaigns to ensure safety and preventive health.

Ali thanked the establishments who are committed to implementing defense orders and adhering to preventive safety and health requirements, calling on other facilities to adhere to a similar degree.

Al-Shamali discussed the effective partnership with the commercial sector. He said that this partnership is an essential basis for overcoming many of the difficulties that resulted from the pandemic.

He pointed out that there are guidelines for work inside the facilities that have been developed in coordination with the commercial sector and other sectors.

Al-Kabariti, said that malls and commercial centers are keen to abide by defense orders and preventive safety and health requirements, calling for focusing on awareness-raising campaigns and guidance to citizens in this regard.

The owners of malls and commercial centers submitted a number of proposals to raise the level of commitment in the establishments, which will be studied by the ministry.
