According to the Worldometer website, Jordan ranked 40th worldwide in the number of coronavirus infections recorded since the start of the pandemic.

Monday, the Ministry of Health announced that Jordan recorded 1,030 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic to 315,544. The number of active cases has reached 11,051, and the death toll rose to 4,153 after recording eight new deaths. This daily death toll Monday was the lowest the Kingdom recorded since October.

Currently, there are 445 coronavirus patients being treated in hospitals. The number of recoveries recorded Monday reached 1,472, bringing the total since the beginning of the pandemic to 300,340.

Recent numbers show that Jordan’s daily positive case rate never exceeds five percent.

Notably, Jordan has a population of 10,258,766 as of January 18, 2021, based on Worldometer elaborations of the latest United Nations data. Jordan’s 2020 population is estimated at 10,203,134 people at mid year according to UN data. The Kingdom’s population is equivalent to 0.13 percent of the total world population.
