Palestine confirms 20 deaths and  578 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 20 deaths and 578 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Sunday.

The new deaths involved 12 in the West Bank (one in Bethlehem; one in Tuklarem; two in Qalqilya; three in Jenin; four in Ramallah, and one in Hebron), six in the Gaza Strip and two in Jerusalem city.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 91.8 percent, while the active case rate is 7.1 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 22 in Tubas; 35 in Bethlehem; 47 in Nablus; 25 in Tulkarem; 17 in Salfit; eight in the suburbs of Jerusalem; eight in Qalqilya; three in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 20 in Jenin; 37 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 28 in Hebron, 212 in the Gaza Strip and 116 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included 27 in Tubas; 41 in Bethlehem; 29 in Tulkarem; 19 in Salfit; 23 in Qalqilya; nine in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 21 in Jenin; 75 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 32 in Hebron; 360 in the Gaza Strip, and 226 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 84 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 21 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,086 PCR tests were conducted.
