No discrimination in Jordan's national COVID-19 vaccination campaign: Hayajneh

The head of the coronavirus portfolio at the Ministry of Health Wael al-Hayajneh Friday said a quarter of a million people in Jordan registered for vaccination against COVID-19. He stressed that Jordan does not differentiate between Jordanian citizens, refugees, migrant workers or expatriates when it comes to vaccination.

He explained that the fact that His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received the vaccine proves that the vaccine is safe and effective. He added that vaccination is the way out of the coronavirus crisis along with wearing facemasks. He stressed that people's support is needed to overcome the pandemic.

He told Jordan TV that Jordanians should not believe any rumors about the vaccines, as some are falsely claiming that the vaccines are old or that they are saline solution. He also thanked all health workers who are part of the national vaccination campaign.

As for the COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom, he stressed that Jordan is moving in the right direction but the fight against the pandemic is still ongoing.
