Palestine confirms 30 deaths and 978 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 30 deaths and 978 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Wednesday.

The new deaths involved 19 in the West Bank, two in Jerusalem and six in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 90.4 percent, while the active case rate is 8.5 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 28 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 18 in Qalqilya; 23 in Salfit; 56 in Nablus; 48 in Jenin; 43 in Tulkarm; 71 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 39 in Hebron; five in Tubas; 26 in Bethlehem; seven in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 177 in Jerusalem; and 437 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included nine in Qalqilya; 26 in Salfit; 221 in Nablus; 82 in Jenin; 42 in Tulkarm; 136 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 108 in Hebron; 37 in Tubas; nine in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 292 in Jerusalem; and 708 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 93 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 25 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,717 PCR tests were conducted.
