The Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce Monday said that due to the decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths in the Kingdom, the Friday lockdown has been made redundant.

"There are no justifications left to continue imposing the Friday lockdown," he said.

He added that it would be 'powerful' of the government to announce the end of Friday lockdowns and reopening sectors in the coming few days.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce met with the Minister of Health Nathir Obeidat and the National Committee for Epidemics and was told that all decisions are based on the COVID-19 situation.

When asked about the local economic situation, the chairman  said, “It’s terrifying. Today, the damage caused by the lack of decisions, which I call ‘economic silence,’ should not continue. We need brave decisions that will save the Jordanian economy.”
