After a dry three weeks, weather forecast models are indicating that a concentrated air depression Wednesday will make its way from Turkish land to the Kingdom, accompanied by a wet and cold air mass.

According to the Meteorological Department, it is expected that the Kingdom will be affected by this cold and rainy air mass Wednesday afternoon, and eastern winds will shift to moderate southwesterly winds, sometimes activating dust, especially in the south and east of the Kingdom.

During the late hours of Wednesday night, showers of rainfall will occur in the western parts of the Kingdom, including Aqaba, which may become heavy at times. The rain may be accompanied by lightning and thunder, and flash floods may form in valleys and low-lying areas.

Thursday, the cold air mass is set to effect temperatures so that they significantly and sharply drop, resulting in generally cold weather.

Rains will occur in the north and center of the Kingdom, with chances of heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning, thunder and cold winds. The chances of rainfall may extend during the day to parts of the eastern and southwestern regions, with winds which may reach 50 kilometers per hour.
