Tuesday, the Assistant Secretary General of the Ministry of Health for Primary Health Care Affairs, Ghazi Sharkas said that pregnant and breastfeeding women are excluded from receiving the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine.
Sharkas wrote on Facebook, "After I looked at the report of the third phase of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine trials, I found that pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers were not included in the study."
He added "It is difficult to advise pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers to receive the vaccine now."
On Jan.9, the first batch of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine arrived in Jordan, containing 150,000 doses.
