Jordanians across the Kingdom Friday performed the Istisqa prayer after the Friday prayer. 'Istisqa' literally translates to "seek rain" and the prayer in Islamic Shariah is a means of praying for rain during periods of drought.

The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalaileh called on citizens to perform the prayer due to the lack of rainfall this winter. He reiterated the need to abide by health and safety measures while praying.
