Saturday, the United States set a new record in its number of daily cases of COVID-19, totaling 277,346 new cases, according to a Johns Hopkins University.

Thus, the United States, the country most affected by the coronavirus, has recorded a total of 20.38 million cases since the start of the pandemic and 349,920 deaths.

Saturday alone, 2,378 people died from COVID-19 in the country.

The United States began the vaccination campaign Dec. 14.

So far, more than 4.2 million people have been vaccinated across the country, far less than 20 million, a number that President Donald Trump's administration had promised to reach before the end of 2020.
