According to the Director General of the National Aid Fund (NAF) Omar Al-Mashaqa Saturday, the number of families that applied electronically to benefit from the two government support programs, the temporary support program 'Takaful 3' and the supplementary support program 'Takaful 1' has reached 578,206 families.

Al-Mashaqba said that the period for submitting applications electronically to benefit from the two programs ended Friday morning, as the application process began Dec. 19 and lasted two weeks. It is expected that over 135,000 families will benefit from the two programs, and this number does not include families that will benefit from other fund programs.

He added that the number of families that applied to benefit from the temporary support program ‘Takaful 3’, intended for families affected by the pandemic, especially the families of day laborers, reached 303,221. Families benefiting from the program will receive cash support for six months in the first phase.

He added that the number of families that applied to benefit from ‘Takaful 1’ for impoverished families reached 274,985.

Al-Mashaqba indicated that ‘Takaful 3’ will target 100,000 families, while ‘Takaful 1’ will target 35,000, indicating that NAF will begin assessing the applications submitted for the two programs according to 57 measures and indicators that NAF depends on to determine the most demanding families of all types of governmental support.

He mentioned that NAF previously provided registration centers for the two government support programs ‘Takaful 3’ and ‘Takaful 1’ in all regions of the Kingdom, especially remote areas, in addition to more than 200 teams, to help poor families in remote areas to register.
