Palestine confirms 28 deaths and 1,506 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 28 deaths and 1,506 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Sunday.

The new deaths involved 18 in the West Bank (four in Tulkarm; one in Bethlehem; one in Nablus; five in Hebron; three in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and four in Jenin), and 10 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 83.1 percent, while the active case rate is 16 percent and the death rate is 1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 69 in Tulkarem; 65 in Bethlehem; 26 in Tubas; 23 in Qalqilya; 99 in Nablus; 106 in Hebron; 10 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 130 in Ramallah; 25 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 61 in Jenin; 21 in Salfit; 554 in Gaza Strip, and 317 in Jerusalem city.

The recovery cases included 78 in Tulkarm; 180 in Bethlehem; 19 in Tubas; 86 in Qalqilya; 195 in Nablus; 175 in Hebron; 29 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 88 in Ramallah; 194 in Jenin; 55 in Salfit; 160 in Gaza Strip and 234 in Jerusalem city.

Currently, 112 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 27 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,723 PCR tests were conducted Sunday.
