Friday, the Executive Director of Roads at the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Raed Haddadin said that the committee's delayed decisions regarding the archaeological site discovered will result in many issues, including excavation project obstruction and potential flooding in light of the rainy weather.

Haddadin said that implementation of the water pumping system is currently stalled with no decision as to whether or not to proceed with it yet. He added that the project is vital to the area, because it will solve flooding issues faced in the past.

He said that the continued stoppage means a delay in the completion of the project, and consequently the violation of the terms of the contract with the contractor responsible for the implementation of the project, which will result in financial obligations that will exhaust the treasury of the trust.

The Mayor of Amman, Youssef Al-Shawarbeh inspected the excavation site and was briefed on the processes taken to protect the antiquities from any damages.
