For the second consecutive Friday during total lockdown, Ministry of Health epidemics investigation teams conducted random PCR tests during the one hour dedicated to worshippers attending mosques.

The Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health Ghazi Sharkas stated last week that conducting PCR tests on worshipers to detect COVID-19 during Friday prayers comes as a matter of investigating infections in hopes that if positive cases are discovered, the correct cautionary measures can be taken.

Sharkas explained that random testing has stopped across the Kingdom, but the testing of worshipers during Friday prayers aims to protect the citizens, especially the elderly.
