Monday, the Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Major General Hussein Al-Hawatmeh, announced the completion of the merger between the public security services, civil defense and gendarmerie forces which achieved financial savings of JD 180 million.

He confirmed that development processes will continue to aid the merger.

Al-Hawatmeh also added that the merger of 99 main and subsidiary units achieved financial savings of JD 65 million dinars, adding that the sharing of assets, infrastructure and technology achieved financial savings of JD 1.7 million.

He revealed that the implementation of proposed building projects worth JD two million was stopped, in addition to rationalizing the use of machinery, which resulted in savings of JD four million.

He indicated that the directorate provided buildings and lands for the government and for the development of the local community, with a capital value of JD 52 million.

Al-Hawatmeh confirmed the continuation of security campaigns, which have so far led to the arrest of 1,700 people, to preserve community peace.
